At the end of April, I attended the annual joint conference of the International Bar Association Discrimination Law Committee and the IBA Employment and Industrial Relations Law Committee. The conference was held in Berlin, my first visit to this fascinating city, haunted by ghosts, but seemingly dealing with dignity and understanding with its terrible recent history.

EHRC enforcement team resolves most cases informally

The Equality and Human Rights (EHRC) enforcement team has dealt with 337 cases since it started work in October 2007. So far, it has resolved over one-third of the cases it has taken on.Of those, 80% were settled informally, without the need for recourse to legal action, according to a report from the EHRC’s enforcement and public duties teams.
